Houston, TX – Post & Panel signs for Lacey Oaks development
Many different types of signage are required to operate a construction site effectively. One such example is post & panel signs. They identify a construction site and provide details to the public about the upcoming project. These are usually large display signs that advertise the participating builders and general contractors for their specific jobs and construction site location.
When John Daugherty Realtors were ready for their latest upscale housing development in Houston, they called the experts at Front Row Signs. They required a post and panel sign that included many logos and information about the project. We do many post and panel signs for construction sites so we had the materials in stock and were ready to get started.
We began with the design. The client wanted to include an artist’s rendering of the development, the contact information of the realtor responsible for the property, & logos of 5 companies that were involved. The requirements for the single sided sign were straightforward and our designer created a high impact sign with the provided high resolution images.
After the design approval, we printed the graphic for the panel on Orajet 3169 4 mil gloss calendered white vinyl & laminated with the matching gloss laminate for best protection. We chose a 4×8 sheet of ½” MDO which was painted white on one side leaving the back unfinished since only one side would be shown facing the street. We applied the laminated vinyl to the white painted side of the MDO and adhered two 10’ 4×4 wood posts to the MDO. We prepped the sign for transport to the construction site and completed our pre-install site survey before we were ready to install.
Once at the construction site, our installer used Sika Polyurethane fence post mix to set the posts after digging the 2 holes. The poly fence mix is more expensive than concrete but much easier to use, lightweight, sets up quickly and no water is needed.
